Forest of Peace

The Forest of Peace was founded in 1979 by the Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration. Founded as a sanctuary for those seeking to further their spiritual quests, the Forest of Peace has always been dedicated to open-hearted hospitality and fellowship, communion, and ecumenical spirituality.

Following in the footsteps of Father Bede Griffiths, founder of an ashram in India known as Shantivanam (translating to "Forest of Peace"), Sr. Pascaline Coff and her Sisters in the Benedictine Order sought a place in the heartland of America where they could continue the practice of peace and provide spiritual solace for all those in need. Osage Forest of Peace is that place.

A profound desire for understanding between Eastern and Western traditions of thought and spirituality is at the heart of all we do at the Forest of Peace.
