Enjoying the fullness of life in our senior years

We will look at transforming conditioned attitudes into opportunities for spiritual development. Aging helps us to realize that we are more than our body. It helps us to realize who we really are. We will explore how the paradoxes of aging become our pathways to a vital spirituality. A different topic on aging will be covered at each session.

There will be time for reflection, sharing and discussion. Each session is independent of the other sessions (so you can attend all, a few or just one session).

When: Every other Wednesday beginning Feb 6 from 9:30 -11:30 am. Continuing through July 24.

Where:  Bede’s conference Room

Cost: $15 donation would be appreciated. Add $5 for lunch.

Call 918-245-2734 to reserve a space or email us at osageforest@gmail.com

Presenter: Sr. Maryann Greenwald, SSND is a trained chaplain, spiritual and retreat director with experience in Independent, Assisted Living, Skilled Care, and Hospital facilities. Her experience also includes establishing and working with a Commission for the Elderly.

Upcoming Dates and Topics:

May 29: Give of Yourself to Others

It is our attitudes, values, and beliefs about our role and function on this earth that is at the core of our willingness to give of ourselves. What do you consider the fundamental purpose for which you exist? Come and explore ways of fulfilling your purpose in life as you age.

June 12:  Celebrate Your Faith

Inspired by the wisdom and vision of Father Bede Griffiths, Osage Forest of Peace was founded as a monastic ashram in 1979 by Sr. Pascaline Coff and the Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration. Today the Forest of Peace continues to embody its original vision:

    - by drinking from the wellsprings of the great spiritual traditions;
- through contemplative silence, a simple life-style and communal living;
- by offering hospitality to all who seek to deepen their spiritual practice.

Osage Forest of Peace does this by creating an environment for contemplative retreats, daily prayer and meditation. We also offer programs focusing on personal, socio-ecological and global healing-all within a context of ecumenical spirituality, East-West dialogue and interfaith encounters.

Feel free to browse our site to see how the Forest can support you on your path. Information about our upcoming events and announcements is available here.
